Fall promises more tours of Red Mountain Park

August 16, 2010

You can start the countdown now — in just two months, Red Mountain Park will begin the 2010-2011 season of hikes, every third Sunday starting October 17 and ending April 17. You can look forward to cooler weather and an ever-changing park landscape, as volunteers and staff work to make more of the site accessible even before its official opening.

In the meantime, you can celebrate the great numbers that reflect the success of the 2009-2010 season — almost 1,000 people visited Red Mountain Park with an average of 165 visitors each Sunday. Organizers from Friends of Red Mountain Park estimate more than 1,500 volunteer hours donated to run the tours and participate in workdays.

Stay tuned to what’s coming up by checking in at the Friends website or the main Red Mountain Park website, and look forward to fall.
