Last chance to nominate great philanthropists

June 30, 2010

Has a professional advisor — attorney, accountant, financial advisor — helped you or your favorite nonprofit do more for our community? Has a civic leader inspired you and others to step up and make great things happen? Has a generous individual, couple or corporation led the way by making gifts to key causes?

Between now and July 7, you can nominate your choice for one of seven top philanthropy awards in 2010. Categories also include recognition for the outstanding young philanthropist and charitable organization.

Find out more from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, which has helped our community celebrate National Philanthropy Day for more than 25 years. These awards, with winners to be named in August, will be the centerpiece of a special luncheon on November 18. That may seem like a long way away, but the time is now to make your nomination.

A list of previous awards winners and contest information is available on the AFP website. The official deadline is July 1, but this has been extended until July 7 in order to give more people a chance to participate. So, celebrate Independence Day and celebrate philanthropy and the generous heart of our community with a nomination for the top NPD awards.
