Lakeshore Foundation helps thousands with physical disabilities

April 13, 2010

Has your life been touched by the work of the Lakeshore Foundation? Whether you head to the Homewood campus to watch the quad rugby tournament this weekend or take advantage of therapeutic swim classes, you have been touched by the work of what is the largest nonprofit fitness, sports and recreation organization serving Alabamians who have physical disabilities.

In the gym and workout space or the heated indoor pools, people with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions learn so many ways to be healthy, active and live independently.

So, check out the 2010 Quad Rugby Nationals, which will be held April 16-18 at this designated Olympic and Paralympic training site. Or watch the women from the U.S> and Canada play basketball in competition for the North American Cup May 13-16. Both events are free and open to everyone.

Find out more about Lakeshore Foundation and this great asset to our community, one of 50 Ways we are celebrating this year.
