We are adding our congratulations to the recent award received by Nelson Brooke, the staff Riverkeeper at Black Warrior Riverkeeper. Brooke was named 2010 River Heroat the Alabama Rivers Alliance’s Watershed Leadership Conference this past week.

He also researches and analyzes polluters’ permits and collects pollution samples for laboratory analysis when necessary.

A Birmingham native, Brooke has been staff Riverkeeper since 2004. Contact Brooke or Riverkeeper executive director Charles Scribner by e-mail or call 458-0095 to find out more.
