State’s only juvenile arthritis clinic helps our kids

September 8, 2009

Thanks to support from all around our community, children who face juvenile arthritis can get high quality care right here at home.

Since its creation in 2007 through a critical partnership between UAB and Children’s Hospital, the Alabama Clinic for Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases has helped more than 1,000 boys and girls receive appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Two specialists in pediatric rheumatology have helped these children prevent the worst effects of this disease.

A celebration and reception on September 10 will mark the addition of a third specialist, allowing the clinic to increase the number of children served and shorten the time to get an appointment.
