Do you have a great idea for a grant proposal?

July 20, 2009

If the nonprofit organization you work for or support has a great idea about how to serve our community’s greatest needs, now is the time to find out how the Community Foundation can help. Senior Program Officer James McCrary and our great Community Investment staff will offer overview sessions about our grant process, starting at the end of July, for any representatives of a nonprofit organization serving Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Walker or Blount counties.

If you have never applied for a grant from the Community Foundation before, this is your chance to learn more about our priorities and what we are looking for as we invest the limited dollars available in our Community Funds. In fact, if you want to submit a grant for our September 15, 2009, deadline and you have never submitted a grant to us before, you are required to send a representative before your grant will be accepted.

These are tough times, everyone agrees, so we are looking for great ideas that will make the most of whatever we have to invest back in service to the community that created the Community Foundation. Click here to find out more and to sign up.

The first session this summer is Wednesday, July 29, at 9 a.m. at the Community Foundation office, 2100 First Avenue North, Suite 700, in downtown Birmingham. Other dates and times, all at the Community Foundation, are:
– Wednesday, August 5, at 1 p.m.
– Tuesday, August 18, at 9 a.m.
– Thursday, August 27, at 1 p.m.

Seating is limited, so reservations are required by phone to 205-327-3813 or e-mail to JohnQueta Bailey. Tell us who you are and the name of your organization, the area you serve and the date you want to attend.
