Giving circles generate generosity

May 19, 2009

It makes sense at some basic level that if you give in a group, you will be encouraged to do even more for the causes you care about. And now we’ve got proof, according to a recent report on NPR.

We know what happens in the giving circles at the Community Foundation, where our Birmingham Change Fund recently made grants and where Voices Against Violence, part of our Women’s Fund, is completing another round of raising money for future efforts to curb domestic violence.

No matter your cause, you can do more together with others. Our Community Catalyst Fund, currently included more than $10 million in pledges, represents another way that people are sharing their vision as well as their gifts. Their cause? Building a brighter future for this place we call home.

Sharing and giving together. It’s a winning formula for sure.
