Our 50th anniversary year officially started in May of 2009, because that’s the month in 1959 when some creative and visionary leaders decided that our community needed a COMMUNITY foundation. Not a private foundation, supported by one family’s wealth and focused on one family’s charitable dreams, but a foundation created by the community, for the community, supported by the generous spirit of this great place we call home and focused on the greatest needs and opportunities to make life better for us all.
On May 11 at Birmingham Children’s Theatre, we kicked off our official anniversary year with more than 800 people who care about making Greater Birmingham even greater. Won’t you join us as we look for ways to build a brighter future TOGETHER?
