About us

Webb Lyons, Community Investment Manager, and Erin Stephenson, Director of Gift Planning, are just two members of your Community Foundation staff who are involved in helping you imagine and give to build a brighter future for Greater Birmingham.

Founded in 1959, your Community Foundation has a long track record as a catalyst and convenor around important community issues, including the campaign to launch the Three Parks Initiative to build Red Mountain Park and Railroad Park and enhance Ruffner Mountain Nature Center.  In 2008, more than 2,000 people expressed their voice through Yes We Can! Birmingham, an initiative of the Community Foundation that resulted in a Community Agreement that was presented to the Birmingham Board of Education. Contact Webb Lyons by e-mail or at 327-3817 to find out more about these and other initiatives of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham.

How can you participate? Tell us what you imagine — and help us figure out a way to make some amazing things happen. If you want to volunteer to help with our annual meeting as we celebrate through 2009, contact Jan Bell at 327-3804.

  1. I’m excited to see what this “interactive” reception is about. What can we expect?

  2. We are showcasing what’s great about our community in lots of areas — education, arts, environment, health/human services. We are plugged into some great organizations through our grantmaking, but we welcome all ideas.

As you know, a drum circle is a pretty hard act to follow!
